I don't have answers to those questions. But I think things fall from the sky all the time. In one form or another.
And the comic is sort of a silly look at how we construct a narrative out of those things and cobble an identity out of them. To be able to say, "Look! I did this thing on purpose! Give me more stuff I need to live, please!"

I like how the trophy became infused in his skin.
But how come a trophy fell out of the sky? Who made a falling trophy? When will someone challenge the world's best Arm wrestling chess champion?!!
